October Wrap Up

It's been a busy month!

It started with a super-fun gig with my super-fun Brazilian Jazz friends of Tom Do Brasil. Toronto-based drummer Alessandro Colarossi put out a small group album featuring several arrangements and one original of mine - links coming soon.

I also had the pleasure of working with the Yale Undergraduate Jazz Collective's Jazz Orchestra. They are doing some great work towards building up their jazz program - I'm hoping to have a chance to direct their group at their Jazz Festival this spring.

I also had the chance to work up some of my arrangements with an all-star combo from the Jazz Studies program at SUNY Purchase, featuring vocalist Alexis Cole. Along with them and some other friends, we played at NYC's legendary Blue Note last weekend, and have an upcoming gig at the Bean Runner in Peekskill, NY this Friday.

Tonight (the 27th) I'll be working with Seton Hall's music faculty & some other friends at the South Orange Performing Arts Center. Writing-wise, I'm finishing up seven substantial charts for combined jazz ensemble & concert band for a holiday show, and a couple other fun projects - hope to have those charts added to the STORE soon.

In addition to that, I'm putting the final touches on my presentation The Art of the Intro for this year's Jazz Ed Network conference in Louisville! Hope to see some of you there!
